On February 21, 2019, Brussels hosted a discussion on the Selective Engagement between the EU and Russia report prepared in the framework of a joint project of the Russian International Affairs Council and the EU Delegation to Russia "Russia and the EU: building a network of analytical centers." The discussion focused  on the interaction of Russia and the EU in the “common neighborhood”. The discussion was held within “The CEPS Ideas Lab 2019” Conference, organized by the Center for European Policy Studies.

The discussion was held within “The CEPS Ideas Lab 2019” Conference, organized by the Center for European Policy Studies. 

Natalia Vyakhireva, RIAC Program Manager, made a speech representing the Council at the event. Other speakers at the session included the following experts: Sabine Fischer, Senior Fellow, German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP); Sergey Utkin, Head of Strategic Assessment Section, Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations, Russian Academy of Sciences; Oksana Antonenko, Director at the Global Political Risk team at the UK-based Control Risk consultancy; and Riccardo Alcaro, Research Coordinator and Head of Global Actors Programme, Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI). The session was moderated by Steven Blockmans, Head of Europe in the World & Institutions Units, CEPS. The discussion was attended by experts from EU think tanks, representatives of  official structures of the EU and the European Union countries.
