Russian-Chinese Relations and Eurasian Integration. A View from London. Discussion with Ian Bond

On March 28, the RIAC hosted a roundtable with Ian Bond, Director of the Foreign Policy Department of the London Center for European Reform.

I. Bond presented the newly released report "Russia and China: partners of choice and necessity?" And two political overviews "Contested space: Eastern Europe between Russia and the EU" and " The EU, the Eurasian Economic Union and One Belt, One Road: Can they work together?"

I. Bond presented the newly released report "Russia and China: partners of choice and necessity?" And two political overviews "Contested space: Eastern Europe between Russia and the EU" and " The EU, the Eurasian Economic Union and One Belt, One Road: Can they work together?"

After short introductory words of I. Bond the discussion of the presented works took place. The round table was attended by researchers and experts interested in the issues of Russian-Chinese relations, the policy of the European Union toward Russia and the countries of Eastern Europe. Among them: V. Portyakov, Deputy Director of the Institute of the Far Eastern Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Yu. Kulintsev, Research Fellow at the Institute of Far Eastern Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Y. Dubinin, Professor of the Department of International Relations and Foreign Policy of Russia at MGIMO-University of Ministry of Foreign Affairs; T. Andreeva, senior researcher at IMEMO of the RAS Russian Academy of Sciences; V. Skosarev, a columnist for the Nezavisimaya Gazeta newspaper, as well as students from Moscow universities.

Russian researchers expressed criticism the publications of I. Bond and offered their own vision of the issues raised in publications.
