On January 20, 2026, the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) held a roundtable entitled "State and Prospects of EAEU-Mongolia Cooperation."

Russian and Mongolian experts assessed the current state of trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the EAEU and Mongolia, as well as its prospects following the entry into force of the interim trade agreement. Particular attention was given to the experience in enhancing Russian-Mongolian relations and leveraging its potential to overcome obstacles to deeper EAEU – Mongolia cooperation.

Dmitriy Kiku, RIAC Deputy Director General, Vladimir Serpikov, Director, Trade Policy Department, Eurasian Economic Commission, and Andrey Tochin, Director, Institute for the Development of Integration Processes, Russian Foreign Trade Academy (RFTA) delivered welcoming remarks.

The Russian perspective on key aspects of the trade and economic EAEU – Mongolia cooperation was presented by Russian experts Nikita Pyzhikov, Head, Center for Economic Integration, Institute for the Development of Integration Processes, RFTA, Anton Naku, Expert, Center for Competition Law and Antimonopoly Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Union, MGIMO University, Nikita Shcherbinin, Head, Marketing and Analytics Department, Container Transport Division, Eurosib SPb-transport systems, Lecturer, Department of International Transport and Logistics, MGIMO University, and Sergey Mikhnevich, Leading Research Fellow, Institute of China and Contemporary Asia, RAS.

Amarsanaa Badgaa, Head, Public Administration Department, National Development Institute, and Tseveennamjil Damiran, Researcher, Market and Competitiveness Department, National Development Institute delivered Mongolian vision.
