On February 10-11, 2015, RIAC Deputy Program Director Timur Makhmutov and Program Manager Lyudmila Fililppova visited Istanbul to participate in a conference on proposals of key think tanks for G-20 currently presided by Turkey. The event was sponsored by Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey and Centre for International Governance Innovation, with attendance reaching one hundred experts and think tankers from twenty countries.

Dr. Makhmutov delivered a report on cooperation of think tanks in cyberspace, suggesting establishing regular exchange of analytical materials between the G-20 institutions through their own Internet resources.
During their February 9-14 visit to Turkey, the RIAC representatives also held talks with their partners, including leaders of the Global Relations Forum in Istanbul, the MFA-affiliated Center for Strategic Research and International Strategic Research Organization, both in Ankara. The parties agreed on development of bilateral projects on Russian-Turkish relations, regional issues, and emerging global threats and challenges.
On the initiative of Arif Asalyoglu, Director of the International Institute for Development of Scientific Cooperation, negotiations took place with IPEK University in Ankara with participation of Mikhail Meier, President of the MSU Institute for Asian and African Studies. IPEC rector presented his university's activities, stressing its socio-humanitarian activities and the desire to cooperate with Russian counterparts.
RIAC shared its plans with Russian embassy in Turkey to arouse interest of Russian Ambassador Andrey Karlov, who is now willing to be part of Russian-Turkish events.
