Project: Russia and Turkey: Cooperation Amid Regional Dynamics in the Middle East
The project seeks to explore the interests of Russia and Turkey and identify opportunities for strengthening Russian-Turkish relations, offering practical proposals for their development. The study of the political, economic, and humanitarian basis of the bilateral relations is particularly important for the eventual convergence of the positions that the two nations take when striving to resolve regional problems in the Middle East.
The project is aimed to analyze bilateral relations between Russia and Turkey in the context of regional dynamics in the Middle East.
The project is implemented within the framework of the project direction “Regional Trends in the Middle East in the Context of Security and Development Challenges”.

On December 3, 2018, the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation hosted a meeting for the Center for Modern Turkey Studies (CEIST) and the Turkish association REBTEK joint organizing committee of the first Russian-Turkish Media Forum.
On October 23, 2018, in Moscow, Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) and Center for Strategic Research of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey (SAM) held the 3rd International Conference "Russia and Turkey: Strategic Directions of Multidimensional Partnership."
On October 15, 2018, Bodrum (Turkey) hosted an expert meeting on relations between Turkey and the European Union and the changing priorities of Turkish foreign policy. The round table gathered about 40 representatives from leading analytical centers of Turkey, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Great Britain, the USA, as well as Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Georgia. Timur Makhmutov, RIAC Deputy Director of Programs, represented Russia at the event.
