On April 15, 2026, the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), in cooperation with the Synergia Foundation (Bangalore, India), held a roundtable titled “The Middle East Crisis: Implications for Russia and India.” The event brought together representatives of government institutions and the academic community from both countries.
Opening remarks were delivered by RIAC Director General Ivan Timofeev and Synergia Foundation President Tobby Simon.
Participants conducted an in-depth analysis of the causes of the ongoing Iran–U.S. conflict, discussed its political and economic implications for their respective countries, and shared forecasts regarding future developments. Particular attention was given to potential models for a diplomatic resolution of the crisis and its impact on the regional security architecture.

Reddy and Major General Moni Chandy, Strategic Advisors at the Synergia Foundation; and Adlan Margoev, Research Fellow at the Institute for International Studies of MGIMO University.
The session was moderated by Yulia Melnikova, Head of the Asia and Eurasia Program at RIAC.
