On October 9, 2020, an international debate on the prospects for resolving the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh was held with the assistance of Al Jazeera international news network.

Professor Ibrahim Frehat, University of Qatar, Mathias Bruggmann, Editor-in-chief of the Berlin newspaper Handelsblatt, and Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, took part in the discussion.

The topics addressed included the likely outcome of Russia-Armenia-Azerbaijan trilateral negotiations on ceasefire held in Moscow, the possible roles of Turkey and the European Union in the development of the events in the South Caucasus, the future of the OSCE Minsk Group, and other issues related to stabilizing the situation in the region.
