On December 11, 2017, London hosted the sixth Russia—UK seminar within the framework of bilateral project «Defining Dialogue: How to Manage Russia—UK Security Relations». RIAC coordinates this project in cooperation with the Royal United Services Institute for Defense and Security Studies (RUSI).
The seminar finishes the second round of Russia-UK bilateral expert seminars on security issues in Russia and in Great Britain that started in December 2016. The key topic for the discussion was the non-traditional security threats that both countries are facing today.

The seminar finishes the second round of Russia-UK bilateral expert seminars on security issues in Russia and in Great Britain that started in December 2016. The key topic for the discussion was the non-traditional security threats that both countries are facing today.
In the course of the four sessions the participants discussed legal provisions of both countries and norms of international law in the area of information security and cybersecurity; analyzed the threats poses by state and non-state actors in cyberspace; some of the sessions focused on cybercrime prevention issues, studying means of cooperation in this area, and analyzing best practices of the two countries in terms of public–private activities in setting the international principles for normative behavior in cyberspace and for cybercrime prevention.
Russian delegation included representatives of Russian academic institutes, senior managers of largest Russian and international companies working in the area of cybersecurity, like Yandex and Kaspersky Lab. Representatives of RUSI, senior managers and staff of British companies working in the area of cybersecurity took part in the event representing the UK.
The conclusions and recommendations of the seminar will be published in a joint RIAC-RUSI report following the implementation of the Russia—UK project.
