On October 29, 2019, Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) hosted a lecture on “Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights” by Steve Crown, Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Microsoft Corporation. The event was attended by leading Russian experts on this topic.

Steve Crown suggested an answer to the fundamental question of modern digital society - how to ensure harmonious interaction between people and automated systems? The speaker also talked about what AI technologies are, how to ensure responsible development and application of AI, and what ethical principles ensure the protection of human rights.

A Q&A session was held as part of the expert meeting. The meeting was moderated by Nikolay Markotkin, RIAC expert.
