On April 1, 2016 Latvia’s Foreign Ministry hosted in Riga an international conference “The European Union’s Global Strategy and Central Asia: Views and Instruments.” The conference was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials from the Central Asian countries, the European Union’s functionaries, diplomats, experts and specialists from EU member-states and Central Asia.
RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov delivered a report at the conference on opportunities for interaction in Central Asia between Russia and the European Union.

The conference was organized by the Latvian Institute of International Affairs and the European Union Institute for Security Studies, with the support of the German Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia.
