On December 11, 2025, RIAC in cooperation with RANEPA held the XI International Conference “Educational Migration to Russia in the Context of Global Trends”. The event gathered leading Russian experts on migration issues, as well as specialists in the field of international relations.
Welcoming remarks were addressed by: Elena Karpinskaya, RIAC Director of Programs; Vladimir Malakhov, Director of the Research Center for Theoretical and Applied Political Science of the Institute of Social Sciences RANEPA; Mikhail Margelov, member of the RIAC Board of Trustees and RIAC Vice President.

At the first session, experts discussed key areas and peculiarities of international migration in the age of global transformations. During the second session, the participants discussed the potential of educational migration as a mechanism for attracting qualifies personnel.
Vladimir Malakhov, Director of the Research Center for Theoretical and Applied Political Science of the Institute of Social Sciences RANEPA and Vladimir Mukomel, Head of the Center for Migration Research of the Institute of Economic Forecasting of the RAS, moderated the discussion.
The conference was also attended by experts from the Moscow State Linguistic University, HSE, Tomsk State University, Institute of Social Demography of the RAS, IMEMO RAS, MGIMO University, Lomonosov Moscow State University and others.
The results of discussion were delivered by Ivan Timofeev, RIAC Director General and Vladimir Malakhov, Director of the Research Center for Theoretical and Applied Political Science of the Institute of Social Sciences RANEPA.
