On May 30 in Warsaw, RIAC President Igor Ivanov, Director General Andrey Kortunov and Program Director Ivan Timofeyev took part in a meeting of RIAC-ELN-PISM Working Group “Cooperative Greater Europe by 2030” devoted to discussion of steps to restore trust in Europe. Along with mechanisms for settling Ukraine crisis, the participants covered confidence building measures, the role the arms control regime, and prospects for economic cooperation in Greater Europe.

Along with mechanisms for settling Ukraine crisis, the participants covered confidence building measures, the role the arms control regime, and prospects for economic cooperation in Greater Europe.
Most active in the debate were RIAC experts and members engaged in the project, among them Irene Busygina, Professor of the Comparative Politics Department, MGIMO University; Anatoly Adamishin, President of the Association for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation; Artyom Malgin, MGIMO Provost; and Igor Zhukovsky, Pro-Rector of Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University.
The speakers list also included Working Group Co-Chairman Desmond Browne, Executive Board Member of the European Leadership Network, British Defense Secretary in 2006-2008; Adam Rotfeld, Professor of Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies at Warsaw University, Polish Foreign Minister in 2005; et al.
The two-year project is designed to produce a roadmap for development of Greater Europe by 2030 with the account of emerging political, economic and security challenges, the latter with the focus on confidence building measures between Russia and European states and measures to overcome the Cold War aftereffects.
The special working group of prominent Russian and foreign scholars, politicians and civil society leaders holds regular meetings to confer about topical foreign policy matters.
