On March 31, 2016 RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov had a meeting with a delegation of the French National Assembly, composed of Thierry Mariani, Co-Chair of the “Franco-Russian dialogue” Association, MP representing French citizens living abroad, Former Minister of Transport of France, member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly; Odile Saugues, Vice-Chairman of the National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Commission; and Philippe Cochet, Mayor of Caluire-et-Cuire. The delegation, which is now on a visit to Moscow, was accompanied at the meeting by officials of the Embassy of France in Russia.

The discussion focused on cooperation between Russia and France in solving European and global problems, on prospects for settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, as well as on the situation in Syria and the Middle East as a whole.
