On July 11, 2014, RIAC President Igor Ivanov, Director General Andrey Kortunov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Gleb Ivashentsov and Program Assistant Ilya Ivanov received Wi Son Lak, Ambassador of Republic of Korea in Moscow, and Embassy Counselor Kang Dae-Su.

On July 11, 2014, RIAC President Igor Ivanov, Director General Andrey Kortunov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Gleb Ivashentsov and Program Assistant Ilya Ivanov received Wi Son Lak, Ambassador of Republic of Korea in Moscow, and Embassy Counselor Kang Dae-Su.

The sides focused on RIAC's studies on relations between Russia and South Korea, and broader research of security and stability in Northeast Asia. Mr. Wi Son Lak highly praised these efforts and confirmed his intention to further the analysis of the bilateral dialogue and regional situation. Discussing the broad-spectrum international issues, Dr. Ivanov stressed that the Ukraine settlement hinges on the doings of all interested parties that should draw together to solve the problem, definitely a 2014 priority.

In conclusion, the participants expressed hope for advancing both official and nonofficial relations, since cooperation between Russia and South Korea seems critical for stability in this problems-ridden region. RIAC will go ahead with its analytical exploits aimed to approach the numerous regional issues related to enhancing security and regional cooperation.
