On January 15, 2018, Russian International Affairs Council hosted a meeting with Jean-Baptiste Jeangene Vilmer, Director of the Institute for Strategic Studies, IRSEM, French Ministry for Armed Forces, Celine Marange, IRSEM research fellow on Russia, Ukraine, and Central Asia, and Eric Kunzelmann, French Military Attaché at French Embassy in Russia, Brigade General.

The most pending issues of security on the continental Europe, prospects for Ukrainian crisis resolution, and possible areas for Russia-France cooperation in the area of security in the context of the upcoming visit of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, to Russia were discussed in the course of the meeting with Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, and Ivan Timofeev, RIAC Director of Programs.

Most recent RIAC projects in the area of European studies were presented to the French visitors.
