On October 4, RIAC President Igor Ivanov and Director General Andrey Kortunov visited the Migration Policy Institute in Washington, D.C. to discuss migration processes in Russia in the context of current global trends. Moderated by the Institute’s President Demetrios Papademetriou, the meeting was attended by its staff, as well as representatives of other Washington think tanks on migration, government officials, diplomats, media, and NGO leaders. Igor Ivanov and Andrey Kortunov presented the English-language version of RIAC paper “Migration in Russia” and talked about research plans of the Council in this field. The two sides also held talks on expanding bilateral cooperation in migration area.
