On November 20, 2018, Ministry of Unification of the Republic of Korea hosted a meeting for young Russian experts in international affairs having a study visit of to the Republic of Korea. A Ministry representative made a speech about the current state of South Korea policy regarding the prospects for unification with its northern neighbor. After the presentation, Russian experts made comments and asked questions about the policy of the United States and South Korea regarding the DPRK, about the development of economic and humanitarian cooperation between the two Koreas in the context of sanctions, about obstacles to unification, and scenarios for the future state structure of a united Korea.

In the afternoon, the Russian delegation visited Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security, an analytical center at Korea National Diplomatic Academy. Professors of the Institute and the Academy made an overview of the situation in Northeast Asia, analyzed the development of public diplomacy in the Republic of Korea and prospects for Russian-Korean relations. After the presentations, Korean experts answered questions from Russian colleagues.
As part of the study visit, three roundtable discussion will be held with the participation of researchers and professors from Hanyang University, the leading Seoul university, and from Sejong Institute.
