On November 29, 2013RIAC President Igor Ivanov held a meeting with the Ambassador of Egypt to the Russian Federation Mohamed Elbadri. During the meeting, the parties discussed the relevant issues of the Russian-Egyptian relations, the situation in the Middle East as well as international security in general. The Egyptian Ambassador received information about the current RIAC projects concerning the Middle East region and about the RIAC plans for 2014.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the relevant issues of the Russian-Egyptian relations, the situation in the Middle East as well as international security in general. The Egyptian Ambassador received information about the current RIAC projects concerning the Middle East region and about the RIAC plans for 2014.

The parties expressed a joint interest in broadening cooperation between Russian and Egyptian think tanks operating in the realm of international relations, national security and economic cooperation. Special attention was attached to possible joint initiatives of the Russian International Affairs Council and the Egypt Council for Foreign Affairs. RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov also took part in the meeting.
