Second “France-Russia” international colloquium (the first event took place in spring 2013) was carried out on April 24 in Paris by French-Russian think tank Observatoire franсo-russe, Institut de relations internationales et strategiques and Chambre de commerce et d'industrie franco-russe with support of French Business Confederation MEDEF International.

On the Russian side, the reporters’ list included RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov, Presidential Commissioner for Entrepreneurs' Rights Boris Titov, Valdai Club President Sergey Karaganov, Editor-in-Chief "Russia in Global Affairs" journal Fyodor Fyodor Lukyanov, all RIAC members, as well as Academician Vitaly Naumkin, Director of RAS Institute for Oriental Studies, and several RIAC experts. Russia’s delegation also included Ambassador to Paris Alexander Orlov and Deputy Security Council Secretary Eugeny Lukyanov.

France was represented by over 300 members of the political establishment and Paris think tanks, government officials, journalists, civil society leaders and corporate CEOs. The gathering was addressed by IRIS Director Pascal Boniface, President of La Chambre de commerce et d'industrie franco-russe Emmanuel Quidet, Yves-Thibauld de Silguy, and Chantal Guitet, National Assembly deputy and President of France-Russia Friendship Group. Reports were made by Senator Jean-Pierre Chevenment, Foreign Ministry's Special Representative for Relations with Russia; Raphael Bello, Head of Bilateral Cooperation Department at Ministry for Economics and Finance, Ambassador to Moscow Jean Maurice Ripert, Senator Yves Pozzo di Borgo, Vice-President of Commission on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces, as well as other officials.

The speakers focused on bilateral Russian-French relations and their future, Ukraine and scenarios for the crisis settlement, the Middle East and prospects for Russian-French cooperation in handling the Syria situation. Special attention was given to the future of Russian energy sector and bilateral cooperation in the energy sphere.
