The research projects were launched by the National Agenda for the Future of Syria (NAFS), United Nations Economic and Social Commission for West Asia (UN ESCWA). The projects are aiming at post-conflict reconciliation and reconstruction in Syria.

Khawla Mattar, ESCWA Deputy Executive Secretary for Program Support, Mokhtar Lamani, Fellow at Canadian International Council, and Riwa Nasreddine, Programme Manager, National Agenda for the Future of Syria, made welcoming remarks at the event opening.
The key speakers included Ibrahim Daraji, NAFS constitutional expert, and Frank McLaughlin, NAFS expert on the electoral process.
Experts from international organizations and research centers, government officials, and representatives of foreign policy institutions from different countries took part in the discussion. Ruslan Mamedov, RIAC Program Assistant, represented Russian side at the meeting.
