On November 17–19, 2023 Bengaluru (India) hosted the IX Synergia Conclave “The Future of Advanced Technologies, Global Diplomacy and National Security”, collecting more then 150 participants from 23 countries of the world. The event was organized by Synergia Foundation—one of the partners of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) in the Republic of India.
27 sessions, panel discussions and key speeches of the Conclave addressed the whole range of issues on the international agenda: from the ongoing conflict in the Middle East to the future of the world order; from the innovations, affecting our daily lives, to the technologies, changing the course of modern conflicts. Both public officials from the Government of India and renounced experts took part in conversations.

Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Academic Director, spoke at the session “Global Futures 2035 — Plausible Alternate Futures”. As well as his counterparts, in particular Ambassador P. S. Raghavan, Chairman of the National security Advisory Board of India, Mats Karlsson, Former Vice-President of the World Bank, Nobuo Tanaka, Executive Director Emeritus of the International Energy Agency, K. Radhakrishnan, Former Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization, and Paul Revay, Former Director of the Trilateral Commission, he commented on the main trends of global development, highlighted major challenges and threats to world peace and security and presented his vision of how to overcome them.
Lydia Kulik, Senior Research Fellow of the RAS Institute of Oriental Studies, and Julia Melnikova, RIAC Program Manager, took part in the Conclave as part of the RIAC delegation.
