The paper covers both previously underdeveloped tracks and initiatives new for the bilateral cooperation agenda.

Answering journalists’ questions, Dr. Kortunov underlined that Moscow-Paris relationship should be seen through the prism of the Russia-EU dialogue. According to Mr. Dubien, “the Mistral deal has broken the taboo as now France can deliver weapons to Russia and Russia is free to purchase arms from NATO countries.”

Russia and France do have something to offer to each other, so their interaction should not be limited by cooperation on Syria.
