In view of the forthcoming official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Seoul, RIAC Director General Andrei Kortunov and RIAC member Alexander Panov held consultations on the development of bilateral relations in the Administration of the President of the Republic of Korea. Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Seoul Maxim Volkov took part in the discussions.

The Korean side was represented by Senior Secretary to the President for Foreign Affairs and National Security Ju Chul-ki and other officials.
Andrei Kortunov and Alexander Panov informed on the RIAC work on security and cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as on the development of bilateral relations. Particular attention was paid to the issues of informational and analytical support of intergovernmental cooperation between the two countries, and the role of independent research centers in promoting official agenda of the relations. At the meeting, the Korean side was presented the preliminary results of the current RIAC Project “Russia and Republic of Korea: an Outlook for Bilateral Relations”
