On February 21, 2018, Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, had a meeting with Sylvie Bermann, French Ambassador to Russia.

The following issues were discussed in the course of the meeting: military and political situation in Syria in the context of possible activation of Geneva process for political settlement, modality of deploying international peacekeeping forces in the Eastern Ukraine, prospects for development of Russia-France relations within the upcoming visit of the French President Emmanuel Macron to Russia.

Paul-Bertrand Barets, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of France, and Nicolas Broutin, the First Secretary at the Embassy, also took part in the discussion.
