On April 3, 2026, participants of the InteRussia internship program for international specialists visited the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC). The program is implemented by the Institute for International Studies at MGIMO University in cooperation with the Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund.

RIAC Director General Ivan Timofeev shared his assessments of the international situation with the participants and answered their questions. This was followed by a lively discussion of current global and regional issues, with particular attention given to the state and prospects of resolving the crisis in the Middle East.

RIAC Director General Ivan Timofeev shared his assessments of the international situation with the participants and answered their questions. This was followed by a lively discussion of current global and regional issues, with particular attention given to the state and prospects of resolving the crisis in the Middle East.

Yulia Melnikova, Head of the Asia and Eurasia Program at RIAC, briefed the participants on the Council’s main areas of activity and research priorities. RIAC Program Managers Polina Chupriyanova, Konstantin Sukhoverkhov, Ivan Bocharov, Gleb Gryzlov, and Tatyana Bogdasarova, along with Managing Editor of RIAC print publications Daniil Rastegaev, presented their corresponding projects and outlined their substantive focus.

The participants—representing eight countries—outlined their professional interests and discussed with RIAC staff opportunities for expanding cooperation between the Council and foreign think tanks. RIAC Program Assistants Alexey Kashin and Anna Korzun also took part in the meeting.
