On January 21-12, RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov took part in the international conference on development and implementation of the European Union’s common defense and security strategy held in Vienna and organized by the Bruno Kreisky Forum for International Dialogue with assistance of Bulgarian Center for Liberal Strategies, European Council on Foreign Relations, Austrian Federal Ministry of Defense and Sport, and Balkan Trust for Democracy.

On January 21-12, RIAC Director General Andrey Kortunov took part in the international conference on development and implementation of the European Union’s common defense and security strategy held in Vienna and organized by the Bruno Kreisky Forum for International Dialogue with assistance of Bulgarian Center for Liberal Strategies, European Council on Foreign Relations, Austrian Federal Ministry of Defense and Sport, and Balkan Trust for Democracy.

Dr. Kortunov’s address covered the current status, problems and prospects for military and technical cooperation between Russia and EU countries, as well as opportunities for joint development and realization of the smart defense concept.

The Conference was also attended by RIAC Member Fyodor Lukyanov, editor in chief of the journal Russia in Global Affairs and Chairman of Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy.
