On May 8, 2014 Stockholm hosted a meeting of participants of Helisnki +40 project aimed to draw up a new agenda for the OSCE that is to mark its 40-year anniversary in 2015.
Sponsored by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the project is carried out by the Russian International Affairs Council, Stockholm International Peace Research Institute and German Marshall Fund of the United States.

The Stockholm session was attended by RIAC Program Director Ivan Timofeev, Kent Harstedt and Walburga Habsburg Douglas, both Riksdag members, Göran Lennmaker, Chairman of the SIPRI Governing Board, Spencer Oliver, Secretary General of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, and Maria Chepurina, OSCE PA Program Coordinator.
The participants focused on ways to advance the Helsinki process using the parliamentary and public diplomacy tools, and elaborated the action plan for preparation of the future seminars in Moscow, Washington and Stockholm. The Moscow Helsinki+40 event scheduled next September 25.
