On May 13, Vienna hosted the Austrian Government-sponsored coordination meeting of European independent foundations and think tanks engaged in applied problems of global politics and international security, including Russian International Affairs Council represented by its Director General Andrey Kortunov, Austrian Bruno Kreisky Forum, Bulgarian Centre for Liberal Strategies, European Council on Foreign Relations, as well as Turkish Center for Economics and Foreign Policy Studies and Center for Strategic Communications.

The participants agreed on multilateral cooperation of European research institutions, among other things on current situation and long-term security trends in the Balkans and the Middle East. Forums of the kind are supposed to become regular and make the cooperative effort practicable for joint analytical work and publications.
