On April 2, 2014 Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin, State Secretary and RIAC Member, received the participants of Russian-Georgian Conference on Regional Security and Bilateral Cooperation. The meeting with the top Russian official was part of the visit of the Georgian think-tankers to Moscow that was opened by meetings in RIAC on March 31 and April 1, 2014. As described by the Russian Foreign Ministry official report, "the participants have exchanged views on the current status and possible ways for continued normalization of relations between the two countries, as well as on prospects for long-term stability and security in Transcaucasia. The expert community is definitely playing a significant part in attaining these goals."

RIAC was represented by Program Director Ivan Timofeev who gave Mr. Karasin the recently published joint RIAC and ICCN working paper "Russian-Georgian Relations: in Search of New Ways for Development" and RIAC's 2013 Annual Report.
