The following issues were covered during the meeting: Northeast Asia and particularly Korean Peninsula security issues; multilateral military and political confidence-building system of measures in the North Pacific Ocean region; possible change in the role of the USA in terms of the upcoming presidential elections; Eurasian Economic Union and the Republic of Korea trade area formation perspectives; the role of Russia-Korea cooperation in social and economic modernization in the Russian Far East regions.
