On November 9–10, 2020, the regular 5th annual EU-Arab World Summit is held online. It has become a platform for political and economic dialogue between the European Union and the Middle East.
Traditionally, the event is held under the patronage of the Greek government, the European Parliament, and the European Commission. The discussions at the Summit gather government officials, parliamentarians, diplomats, officials of international organizations, experts, and journalists. This year, participants focused on the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the economic recession in the Middle East, as well as the likely consequences for the region coming with the change of the administrations in the United States.
