On July 3, 2014, the Russian International Affairs Council hosted the workshop "Helsinki +40: the Past, the Present and the Future" to discuss the Russian position and Russian interests in the OSCE, prospects of this international body, and the activities to be reflected in a future RIAC report on the issue.

On July 3, 2014, the Russian International Affairs Council hosted the workshop "Helsinki +40: the Past, the Present and the Future" to discuss the Russian position and Russian interests in the OSCE, prospects of this international body, and the activities to be reflected in a future RIAC report on the issue.

The event has been meant as a preview to the international workshop on the OSCE to be held by RIAC with the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly representatives on September 25, 2014 in Moscow.

The participants' list included Mikhail Margelov, Chairman of International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council; Alexey Meshkov, Deputy Foreign Minister; Alexander Grushko, Permanent Representative to NATO; Andrey Kelin, Permanent Representative to the OSCE; Ivan Soltanovsky, Director of the European Cooperation Department at Russian Foreign Ministry; Igor Semenenko, Head of Department for Coordination of Special Representatives of the Russian President at Presidential Foreign Policy Directorate; Eugeny Buzhinsky, Senior Vice President of PIR-Center; Alexey Gromyko, Acting Director of RAS Institute for European Studies; Andrey Zagorsky, Professor of the Chair for International Relations and Foreign Policy at MGIMO-University; Sergey Rogov, RAS Member and Director of RAS Institute for the U.S. and Canadian Studies; Dmitry Danilov, Head of International Security Department at RAS Institute for European Studies; Sergey Utkin, Director of Center for Strategic Assessments at RAS Center for Situational Analysis, other representatives of Russian Foreign Ministry and Federation Council, and key experts.
