On May 20, 2016, Russian MFA Mansion hosted the presentation A Non-Silk Way, a book on Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev by Sergey Plekhanov, Chairman of Foreign Relations Commission at Moscow Department of Russian Union of Writers. The foreword was authored by RIAC President Igor Ivanov.

The audience was addressed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Kazakh Ambassador to Moscow Marat Tajin, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Moscow Polad Bulbul-Ogly, Moscow State University Rector Viktor Sadovnichy, Director of Nazarbayev Foundation for Culture, Education and Social Programs Kanat Saudbayev, Peoples’ Artist of the USSR Armen Dzhygarkhanyan, et al.

Mr. Lavrov stressed that President Nazarbayev’s life has been hardly silk-woven as has been vividly described by Sergey Plekhanov in the product of his 15-year-long effort, which offers a graphic narration of his strenuous rise to leadership, as well as the hardships of the country during the transformations of the stormy 1990s. It was President Nazarbayev who managed to outline the strategy toward sustainable development, and to guarantee peace and harmony for his people.

The event was attended by top politicians, businessmen, international affairs experts and celebrities.
