On March 29, 2020, the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences held the round table “Agrarian Problems and Models of Economic Development in the East”. The event was organized by the Center for Agricultural Research and Food Security.

On March 29, 2020, the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences held the round table “Agrarian Problems and Models of Economic Development in the East”. The event was organized by the Center for Agricultural Research and Food Security.

The round table was devoted to the issues of agrarian development and agricultural policy, food and environmental security problems in the East. Besides, the participants discussed social inequality and green growth in the economies of Asian and African countries. The event also was devoted to the situation on the global food market in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Referent at the Russian International Affairs Council Ivan Bocharov took part in the round table. His report was devoted to the food security challenges in Egypt.
