On November 23–25 Tarō Kōno, Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, paid an official visit to Moscow to negotiate the development of bilateral relations between Russia and Japan, opportunities for signing a peace treaty, and to discuss the present world situation, including the DPRK nuclear issue.
On July 19, Alexander Dynkin, RIAC member, Director of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations, RAS Academician, and Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General, had a meeting with delegation of deputies from the Japanese House of Councillors visiting Moscow and representing major Japanese political parties.
