On January 29, 2021, the University of Pennsylvania made a presentation of the 14th edition of the Global Go To Think Tank Index Report.

According to the study, Russia ranks 12th among the countries with in the largest number of think tanks (143 organizations).

According to the study, Russia ranks 12th among the countries with in the largest number of think tanks (143 organizations).

RIAC has traditionally been recognized in six categories: Top Think Tanks in Central and Eastern Europe, Top Defense and National Security Think Tanks, Top Foreign Policy and International Affairs Think Tanks, Best Independent Think Tank, Think Tank to Watch, and Best Institutional Collaboration Involving Two or More Think Tanks. 

RIAC congratulates its partners representing Russia, many of which occupy high positions in certain categories of the rating: MGIMO University, IMEMO RAS, RAS Institute for U.S. and Canadian Studies, RAS Institute of Europe, RAS Institute for Oriental Studies, RAS Institute of Sociology, RAS Institute of Economics, RAS Institute of Scientific Information for Social Sciences, Council on Defense and Foreign Policy (CDFP), Carnegie Moscow Center, Center for Strategic Research, and other.
