Project: Cooperation between Russia and the Latin American Countries in the New Conditions
The need to analyze the domestic and foreign policy dynamics of Latin American countries, along with the prospects for deepening cooperation, is driven by Russia's strategic objectives to find new partners and strengthen ties with existing ones.
As outlined in the 2023 Russian Foreign Policy Concept, "The Russian Federation intends to develop relations with the states of Latin America and the Caribbean on a pragmatic, non-ideological, and mutually beneficial basis…" It is particularly important to note the growing interest in the region not only from the Russian government but also from business leaders, academic institutions and the expert community.
The primary goal of this project is to identify promising avenues for cooperation between Russia and Latin American nations. This involves a thorough analysis of the challenges and constraints within this partnership, culminating in a set of actionable recommendations to optimally advance relations in key priority areas.
