On February 9, 2016 the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) hosted a meeting of its President Igor Ivanov with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Russia Li Hui. RIAC President and Ambassador of China exchanged views on current international events, discussed the opportunities for promoting Russian-Chinese cooperation in settling regional conflicts and strengthening institutions of global governance, and emphasized the need to systematize efforts to conjoin the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the Silk Road Economic Belt project. Particular attention was paid to the preparation of “Russia and China: towards a new quality of bilateral relations” international conference, which will be held in Moscow on May 30-31, 2016.

On February 9, 2016 the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) hosted a meeting of its President Igor Ivanov with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Russia Li Hui.

The meeting was attended by Advisor to the Embassy of China in Moscow Liu Hao and RIAC Program Manager Lyudmila Filippova.

RIAC President and Ambassador of China exchanged views on current international events, discussed the opportunities for promoting Russian-Chinese cooperation in settling regional conflicts and strengthening institutions of global governance, and emphasized the need to systematize efforts to conjoin the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the Silk Road Economic Belt project.

Particular attention was paid to the preparation of “Russia and China: towards a new quality of bilateral relations” international conference, which will be held in Moscow on May 30-31, 2016. The event is expected to analyze the current state and development trends of Russian-Chinese relations, to identify the main achievements and unresolved problems in the Russian-Chinese interaction, and to work out proposals to the political leadership of the two countries on further promotion of strategic partnership.
