On February 8–9, 2018, within «Public Diplomacy. EU and Russia.» project Russian International Affairs Council and Delegation of the European Union to Russia held a seminar on the prospects of economic interaction under sanctions.

On February 8–9, 2018, within «Public Diplomacy. EU and Russia.» project Russian International Affairs Council and Delegation of the European Union to Russia held a seminar on the prospects of economic interaction under sanctions.

The following issues were discussed in the course of the event: opportunities for economic cooperation between Russia and the EU, Russia's energy policy in the face of sanctions, and common and diverging interests of Russia and the EU in neighboring economic spaces.

Over 30 experts from Russia and the EU, permanent members of the group, as well as scholars and analysts on relevant topics took part in the seminar.

The seminar was held as part of the EU-Russia Experts Network initiative with the aim of facilitating long-term cooperation between the EU and Russia. Several round table discussions on different aspects of Russia-EU relations were held in 2017 within the project framework. The project is planned for the period through summer 2018.
