Andrey Kortunov, Director General of the Russian International Affairs Council, and Dmitri Trenin, director of the Carnegie Moscow Center and RIAC member, met with the employees of the Dutch embassy in Moscow and the Netherlands’ Foreign Ministry Officials on July 12. The group of Dutch diplomats was headed by Hester Somsen, Director for Security Policy at the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The group of Dutch diplomats was headed by Hester Somsen, Director for Security Policy at the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The discussion focused on the current European security issues, the present state and the prospects of the relationship between Russia and the West as well as possible avenues of Russian-Dutch cooperation in various areas.

The meeting was chaired by Renée Jones-Bos, the Netherlands' Ambassador to Russia.
