On September 21–23, 2018, "Leaders of the Next Generation" (STARS) annual symposium took place in Stein am Rhein (Switzerland).

Over sixty executives and top managers of large companies and corporations from Switzerland, EU countries, the USA, China, Turkey, India, Japan and several other countries took part in the event.

Ivan Timofeev, RIAC Director of Programs, Associate Professor at MGIMO-University, made a speech at one of the sessions. His presentation was a review of political risks relevant to international business. A special emphasis was made on the issue of economic sanctions. Ivan Timofeev’s speech was based on the results of a series of RIAC and MGIMO research projects. The priorities and directions of Russia's foreign policy, the problems in the relations between Russia and the United States, China, India and other countries were discussed in the questions and answers session.
