Since 1995, Director of the RAS Institute of Latin America.
Professor of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs at the Higher School of Economics.
Invited expert of various governmental and parliamentary institutions.
Member of the presidium of the National Committee for Promotion of Economic Cooperation with Latin American Countries.
Member of the management committee of the European Council for Social Research on Latin America. Member of the editorial board of the Lesser Russian Encyclopedia, of the scientific journal of Cambridge University, and of the Latin America and IBEROAMERICA journals.
Author of over 180 academic papers.
Academic interests: social and economic problems of Latin America, Spain and Portugal, and general issues of world economics and global politics.
Recipient of state awards.
