LUKOIL is a shareholder in Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz Project, and Rosneft announced plans to develop oil production in the Caspian Sea in cooperation with Azerbaijan. In addition, Russia has certain transportation facilities in the region, i.e. the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline and the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC).
