Soviet and Russian political scientist. Graduated from Moscow State University with a degree in philosophy. Received his doctoral degree from the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Taught at the Institute for U.S. and Canadian Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
1989–2009: Instructor and Head of the School of Political Science and Comparative Politics. Founder and first dean of the Faculty of Political Science of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. Pro-Rector of MGIMO.
2009: appointed professor of the Department of Applied Politics of the Higher School of Economics School of Political Science and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Higher School of Economics.
Doctor of Philosophy.
Honoured worker of science of the Russian Federation.
