On February 7, 2019, the residence of the U.S. Ambassador to Russia hosted a meeting for a group of experts with Nicholas Berliner, Director of US State Department Russia Desk.

Andrey Kortunov, RIAC Director General; Dmitry Suslov, Senior Lecturer at the Department of International Relations, Faculty of World Economy and World Politics, HSE; Ekaterina Shulman, Political Scientist, Associate Professor at RANEPA; Andrey Kolesnikov, Chair of the Russian Domestic Politics and Political Institutions Program at the Carnegie Moscow Center; and Alexander Golts, editor-in-chief of «Yezhenedelny Zhurnal», took part in the meeting.

The discussion focused on the current state of Russia-the U.S. relations, the possibilities for resolving the Syrian and Ukrainian crises, and the trends in Russia's social and political development. The meeting was attended by employees of the U.S. Embassy in Russia and the U.S. Department of State. The meeting was moderated by Jon Huntsman, U.S. Ambassador to Russia.
