International School for Disarmament and Conflict Research (ISODARCO) in Andalo, Italy, January 7-14, 2018

The work of the 31st Winter course of International School for Disarmament and Conflict Research (ISODARCO) was organized in Andalo (Italy) from the 7th to 14th January. The theme of the 31st Winter course: "Change of the nuclear order: new technologies and nuclear risks". The lectors of the School are experts in the sphere of international security from Germany, Great Britain, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, China, India and Russia. The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Pugwash Committee by the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Department of European Policy Studies of the National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations in the name of E. M. Primakov (IMEMO), Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Political Sciences Nadezhda Arbatova presented the lection on the topic "Nuclear disarmament: is it achievable and desirable? International perspectives». Member of the Russian Pugwash Committee Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexey Arbatov presented two lections on the topics on the issues of strategic stability, as well as the use of aerospace forces in contemporary conflicts. A non-governmental scientific and educational organization ISODARCO was established in 1966 with the support of the Pugwash movement of scientists and is an affiliated structure.
