The Global Value Shift: Adjusting the Institutional Framework

... non-military issues pertaining to international security, including cyber-security, energy security, as well as common response across regions to pandemics. One possible format may involve the EU (covering France and, only to a degree, the UK), BRICS (Russia, China) and the North American USMCA alliance. This framework effectively involves most of the G20 countries into discussions on global security issues. The next step may involve an extension in the coverage of the regional platform to include ...

The Coronavirus and Conflicts in the Middle East

... With the start of the coronavirus outbreak, Russia launched humanitarian deliveries to Syria, bringing in face masks, coronavirus testing systems, and other medications and medical equipment. Andrey Kortunov: Cooperation with the West Will Only Happen When Russia Modernises

... difficult decision for all. Russia ratified the Paris climate change agreement. The Minsk process moved forward slightly, and in December there was a top-level summit in Paris of the Normandy Four. Agreement was reached on gas transit. Consultations between Russia and the European Union began on 5G communications. Playing with sanctions has already boomeranged on the EU when Washington punished European businesses for participating in the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. Russia is interested in having the EU as an independent player on the international arena, capable of promoting mutually beneficial cooperation. An EU that would not be senselessly searching for a "fifth column" and imaginary foreign enemies....
