Thank you, Fox News Panel 5, for pooh poohing people who quote Shakespeare on Twitter. We are deeply flattered, as that was of course us. We turned to Shakespeare in our desperation while watching the White House mismanagement of the Syrian crisis. We also noted how you tried to outdo each other boasting about your trivial literary pursuits while scoffing at the historical lessons we can learn from great writers. Meanwhile, after what we saw at the D.C. Navy yard yesterday, we may also have to turn to Franz Kafka. It outdid even "The Castle" and "The Trial."
We were not the only ones to be misled by police who reported three shooters – thus evoking fears of conspiracy. Meanwhile, in total chaos, hundreds of police and FBI agents arrived in hundreds of trucks, cars and helicopters. The White House took defensive measures. The Senate shut down and the Pentagon issued a warning. Sorry Five! If one shooter could cause all this, we surely want to do everything we can to help folks contemplate the vulnerability of our Navy high command to terrorism.
Naturally, President Obama handled the matter with his usual skill at improvisation, already demonstrated in the Syrian crisis. Instead of engaging in Clintonian triangulation with the GOP and forging bipartisan consensus, the president wasted no opportunity to publicly attack the terrorists, but also the GOP. POTUS must now come to grips with the weakening of his presidency during the Syrian crisis. While quietly recognizing that he was outstaged by Vladimir Putin, he needs to compromise with the GOP on Obamacare and the budget. Otherwise he will not generate support for what may become a protracted Syrian crisis. Unless he wants his presidency to be a total fiasco, he must abandon his leftist agenda
