At 2 A.M. this morning, customers of  Florida's Pulse nightclub, one of the hottest gay bar in Orlando,  were attacked by a lone gunman Omar Saddiqui Mateen, 31,  carrying an assault rifle and hand gun.   More than 300 people were in the club at the time of the attack.. So far 50 people are dead and 50 have been hospitalized.  Police used an armored vehicle to break down a wall for a Swat team. The gunman was shot and killed by police.

The attack appears to have been well prepared by a terrorist, whether domestic or foreign, or else a bigot who hates gays. Do not forget Islamists hate homosexuals.  Omar was a Florida-born citizen of Afghan descent.

This is similar to the attack on the nightclub in Paris – well prepared, well equipped except in the former case there were more assailants and they did not pause in the shooting as this one did. Why? One law enforcement official has reported the gunman was an Islamic terrorist, but there are no other reports thus far. We hope not, but it is likely the White House is preparing to minimize any connection to foreign terrorists as they did in the early stages of the San Bernardino attack.
