JVLV: Bernie, repeatedly, jvlv.net, our unique, bi-partisan site, has suggested to you that you have to bring the issue of Hillary's e-mails to the fore in the debate. You finally did yesterday, calling it a "serious issue." In fact, it's more than "serious; " it's a critical issue of our national security. The recent, explosive revelations about 22 top secret e-mails being placed on her hack-able, unsecured server represent an even more profound challenge to our national security and freedom than Richard Nixon's Watergate!
This is a game-changer for you and should be for any undecided voter reading this! These emails are so sensitive they cannot be published. There may be lives at stake; CIA operatives working abroad! Already four American lives have been wasted at our Benghazi consulate in Libya because Madame Secretary didn't send help to them either before or during a terrorist attack. Chairman Trey Gowdy of the House Subcommittee on Benghazi, concluded at least two of them could have been saved with timely help. Then she stood by the coffins of the dead men and lied to their parents the attack that killed their sons was due to an anti-Muslim video.
There is also strong evidence she put material on her private server not because of convenience, but because she was hiding from the American people and her own administration her influence peddling with unsavory actors of the Middle East. She was helping these actors peddle arms to Libyan rebels while her associates were helping her make money for her foundation. These countries, some of whom severely oppress women, were funding her path to power with contributions to her Clinton Foundation and $500,000 speaker fees to Bill.
In his book, Clinton Cash, Peter Schweizer, following the Clintons' circuitious money trail, highlighted her involvement in machinations that led to the sale of a fifth of U.S. uranium to Russia!
You must recognize that she broke the law. Thus, if she is elected, the law suits will continue, resulting in perhaps a worse inferno than Milhous Watergate. Recalling the thousands of hours of Nixon tapes during Watergate, veteran Washington Post Reporter Bob Woodward, who helped to break the Watergate story, commented, “This has to go on a long, long time and the answers are probably not going to be pretty.” Adverse repercussions to our foreign policy may also follow. As Watergate taught us, a president weakened by legal attacks at home is an invitation to mischief for our foes abroad.
If you still think the Clinton's would safeguard our national security, please read "Aldrich: Hillary Clinton's Abominable National Security Record," in the Washington Times, October 6, 2012. Gary Aldrich is a former FBI man who observed the Clinton's during their former White House reign.
"Because of an obvious disregard for security-related matters throughout the executive branch, career professionals left the Clinton White House and their respective agencies in droves, " wrote Aldrich. " I knew many who did, and it was a sad day when another one would greet us in the hallways of the Old Executive Office Building with an announcement of retirement, transfer or outright resignation."
Elsewhere he writes of Hillary's "Travelgate" scandal: "Lacking respect did not discourage Mrs. Clinton from using security agencies as a hammer to attack and punish those who stood in her way. The FBI, the Secret Service and the Internal Revenue Service hounded and then prosecuted seven innocent men who worked for the White House travel office simply because they were standing in the way of Mrs. Clinton’s political interests and ambitions. She knew federal investigations would destroy those good men, but she wanted her friends in those slots, and that was all that mattered. "
But there's more and worse that goes to her character. She's a "congenital liar," wrote the late New York Times columnist William Safire. Why? Bernie, tell the new young voters that they must look more into her past. Tell them they must read Safire's January 8, 1996 essay, "Blizzard of Lies, Remind them Safire was surely no member of Hillary's alleged "great right wing conspiracy." He went after Republican Richard Nixon tooth and nail before he went after Hillary! He did so because of Whitewater and fraud involving real estate investments in a failed company that cost taxpayers millions. Her Rose Law Firm partner, Webb Hubbell, landed in jail over Whitewater, but she escaped prosecution as usual.
Bernie, what has really changed? Servergate is a continuation of Whitewater. So is "Foster-gate," involving her reputed lover, another Rose Law Firm Partner, Vince Foster. He was found dead in a park under suspicious circumstances and Safire questioned his supposed "suicide." Meanwhile, her Whitewater law files kept in his office were spirited away even before police arrived. They were later discovered in Hillary's possession -- after the statute of limitations expired.
In a statement that sounds eerily familiar and relevant today, Safire, investigating Whitewater and other of Hillary's many scandals past, reflected, "One reason for recent revelations is the imminent turning of former aides and partners of Hillary against her; they were willing to cover her lying when it advanced their careers, but are inclined to listen to their own lawyers when faced with perjury indictments..."Therefore, ask not 'Why didn't she just come clean at the beginning?' She had good reasons to lie; she is in the longtime habit of lying; and she has never been called to account for lying herself or in suborning lying in her aides and friends."
Also look into how Jerry Zeifman described Hillary after observing the then staff counsel Hillary during the House Judiciary Committee's investigation of Watergate in 1974. There is a dispute over whether he was her supervisor and fired her as he claims, but the lifelong Democrat viewed her as,"an unethical, dishonest lawyer," who "conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the Committee, and the rules of confidentiality." And in 2014 he added another damning comment: "“Hillary Clinton is ethically unfit to be either a senator or president — and if she were to become president, the last vestiges of the traditional moral authority of the party of Roosevelt, Truman and Johnson will be destroyed.”
Bernie, you are an old good, honest, and perhaps a bit naïve Menshevik, but Hillary is a cynical, kleptocratic, masked Bolshevik. Clinton aide Paul Begala referred to her former White House team as "the Bolsheviks." She is certainly no centrist like Bill and her reputation is one of a vindictive woman who gives her enemies no quarter.
Bernie, for full disclosure, bipartisan JVLV has given support to two candidates in this election cycle; Donald Trump and you. You both, share three commonalities; you believe the system is rigged and must be changed through peaceful revolution. For different reasons, both of you have rejected money from PACS and Wall Street banks, Trump by funding himself, you through small contributions from the folks. This revolution, unfortunately ignored by the prestigious think tanks like CFR and Brookings, is a very real manifestation of voter disgust with the theft of government by and for the people by the wealthy who buy politicians with their donations.
Unlike Hillary you are earnest and honest. The time has come for you to follow Donald Trump's and Carly Fiorina's lead and address the issue of Hillary's Servergate crime. The republic simply will not survive another "gate" or a leader who basically is a brilliant sociopath. The destiny of this nation is up to you. Join Trump in calling for her indictment. Then we will have free elections between you and him and the American people will decide and survive. In the judgment of JVLV, it's better to have a democratic socialist than a masked Bolshevik in the Whites House. The ethical issue is not what kind of campaign you would like to run, but the kind of campaign you must run in order to win in the primaries. Hillary cannot be president!
